Vision

OUR VISION

Vision

OUR VISION

THE CHURCH I SEE

BY SENIOR PASTOR GERAINT JONES

The Church that I see is inseparably linked to the Cause of Christ on earth – His mission, His kingdom and the Great Commission. A vision that is firmly grounded upon this foundation.

The Church that I see is one whose heartfelt praise and worship attracts heavens attention as well as that which draws men deeper and closer into the presence of God. I see a people who are hungry for God and are prepared to express this in extravagant worship privately and in corporate gathering. A Church that unashamedly and boldly proclaims in word and in worship the supremacy and magnificence of our Mighty Christ and His wondrous work of Grace and atonement over and in us, proudly mindful the Church is the sole agent of Grace in the world.

The Church I see is never liberal but authentic in true historical Christian belief. The Church that I see is one that has a message that is clear and culturally relevant to each and every rising generation free of religious jargon and purposeless man made tradition.

As each generation comes in, there is a resulting change in the culture of the Church. Although we must reject the sinful values of each new culture, we must distinguish these from non-sinful customs, styles and preference of each generation. Truths and principles are eternal -–they never change and neither does our message. However our methods and emphasis do and must change. The Church I see continues to adapt and remain culturally relevant and therefore will not lose almost a whole generation of young people again.

A Church whose motto is “constant change is here to stay”.

I see a Church that chooses to be relevant to the younger generation and is prepared to adapt its musical style of worship and seeks to do things with greater excellence and quality which honours God. The Church I see has restored God the father in the pulpit to his fullness of character, has restored Tozers ‘missing jewel in the evangelical crown’ of awesome and extravagant worship. Jesus is glorified and where the Holy Spirit has once again sensitively been invited back into our meetings to be our help, comfort and guide.

I see a Church that upholds and will not compromise the proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to issues such as national identity, language, heritage and manmade traditions or other religions or anything else for whatever the current/ cultural debate of the time Jesus Christ, His Truth and His commission to reach the lost must always take precedence.

The Church that I see in the future will be both larger and smaller. Larger in size of its buildings, resources, congregations with celebrations full of life and excitement with everything portrayed with excellence but with a deep sense of spiritual acknowledgment of Gods grace in it all. (A place where the words ‘amateur’ and ‘perfectionist’ will equally feel uncomfortable). Yes I believe this environment will attract and encourage people to leave their homes to come into a place so irresistible people will not be able to wait to get there nor will want to leave there. An atmosphere that will give people a taste and a glimpse of Heaven.

I see Church that is also small with house groups providing intimacy, fellowship (koinonia) teaching and opportunity to explore spiritual gifting within structures of pastoral care and accountability.

The Church I see is one big family where we fellowship and eat together, have incredible fun together and are committed to one another where Jesus is always at the center.

The Church I see influences society and not vice versa, a Church that speaks against injustice and proclaims truth and gives strong leadership to an increasingly confused world.

The Church I see has the courage to stand on its convictions and will never bow to ‘political correctness’ if contrary to the Word of God. This Church will also remain true to Jesus exclusive claim of being ‘the Way, the Truth and the Life’ and there being no other way to the Father except through Him. Therefore this Church will respect but will steadfastly resist multifaith pressures to unite.

I see a Church that will be will be a Voice and a Light to the nation of Wales, its people, its Chapels including its children overseas and will take up its inheritance among the Nations where many will leave our shores to take the gospel to unreached people.

A Church that will have earned its right to that Voice because of its testimony to the enabling Grace of God alone and not the talents and efforts of man and his strivings or intellect but in humble cooperation and dependence upon the Holy Spirit.

A Church who’s other motto is

“Not by might nor by Power but by my spirit says the Lord” (Zech 4 v.6)

And

“All will be accomplished because of grace alone” (Zech 4)

I see a people that are so kingdom minded they are prepared to lay down their own agendas and opinions in order to preserve the Unity in the Church at all cost for they well know this is where God commands the blessing, and this is how the Church will remain united and prevail.

I see a people so Christlike that they truly reflect the love of Christ, the fruits of the Spirit and who have learned how not to grieve the Holy Spirit and thereby attract the manifest presence of God in their lives, bringing joy, strength and anointing.

A people so radical that they will pay ‘whatever the cost’ in order to win souls for Christ and to see revival sweep this land and to again see thousands give their lives to Jesus.

I see a Church that when strangers to the things of God come inside her house, the worship and the word will have the capacity to penetrate their hearts with life, hope and purpose for living and find peace for their souls.

A Church that is also a refuge or ‘Oasis’ (Kadesh) where the so-called outcasts of society, the lonely and brokenhearted can find hope, answers and acceptance.

The Church I see has a ‘generation perspective’ and never forgets to place priority or her obligation and responsibility to pass on to the next generation undimmed and undiminished the knowledge of our Holy God and guide them into personal experience with God.

I see a church that is committed to training and empowering the next generation to take their place in readiness for their God given destiny and who know the secret and timing of passing on the baton of Gods purposes onto the next generation.

I see a Church that focuses on children and young people as one of the Church’s greatest mission fields. I believe the largest Churches of tomorrow will be the ones with the most dynamic children’s ministry today because children and youth are the feeder systems of the Church.

I see a Church that will reach out and seek to raise up the next generation to take ownership and leadership within the local Church. I see a spiritual flow down the generations because of Children and Youth Ministries today that will impact millions downstream.

I see a Church that raises up an army of servants and soldiers ready and willing to serve with a spirit of humility and ready to fight with Christ’s authority.

Yes sometimes I liken this church to a battleship sailing sovereignty towards her God given destiny with Christ as the pilot holding true course no matter how stormy the waters, with sailors who man the functions of the ship and its guns and servants to attend the crew and nurses to man the sick bay and marines ready to invade and storm enemy territory.

I see a church that arises magnificently and attractively beautiful without spot nor blemish as the Bride of Christ that no matter what sufferings, persecutions and tumults that are to come, will nevertheless overcome and will take her place in the end times harvest and worldwide revival that is coming and will be able to proclaim “Come, Lord Jesus come, your bride awaits”.

Yes the Church that I see could well be our Church, 21st Century Church.

Statement of Faith

STATEMENT OF FAITH

Statement of Faith

STATEMENT OF FAITH

We Believe in:

The one true God who lives eternally in three persons—the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

The love, grace and sovereignty of God in creating, sustaining, ruling, redeeming and judging the world.

The divine inspiration and supreme authority of the Old and New Testament Scriptures, which are the written Word of God—fully trustworthy for faith and conduct.

The dignity of all people, made male and female in God’s image to love, be holy and care for creation, yet corrupted by sin, which incurs divine wrath and judgement.

The incarnation of God’s eternal Son, the Lord Jesus Christ—born of the virgin Mary; truly divine and truly human, yet without sin.

The atoning sacrifice of Christ on the cross: dying in our place, paying the price of sin and defeating evil, so reconciling us with God.

The bodily resurrection of Christ, the first fruits of our resurrection; his ascension to the Father, and his reign and mediation as the only Saviour of the world.

The justification of sinners solely by the grace of God through faith in Christ.

The ministry of God the Holy Spirit, who leads us to repentance, unites us with Christ through new birth, empowers our discipleship and enables our witness.

The Church, the body of Christ both local and universal, the priesthood of all believers—given life by the Spirit and endowed with the Spirit’s gifts to worship God and proclaim the gospel, promoting justice and love.

The personal and visible return of Jesus Christ to fulfil the purposes of God, who will raise all people to judgement, bring eternal life to the redeemed and eternal condemnation to the lost, and establish a new heaven and new earth.
